GPSR Product Safety Info — Merchant Guide
Quick summary: Display EU GPSR-required manufacturer, Responsible Person, and safety-warning information on every product page — in the shopper's language — with a completeness dashboard and audit CSV. Free, no product cap.
Why this app exists
The EU General Product Safety Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/988, Art. 19) requires online sellers to show on product pages:
- Manufacturer identity
- EU Responsible Person (when the manufacturer is outside the EU)
- Product identification
- Safety warnings in a language easily understood by consumers of the country where the product is sold
Market-surveillance authorities can audit what you displayed and when. This app lets you enter the data once, assign it per product, and show the right language automatically via a theme app block — plus a dashboard that tells you exactly which fields or languages are still missing.
What you get (every feature is free)
| Feature | What it does for you |
|---|---|
| One place for every GPSR field | Enter each manufacturer and Responsible Person once, then assign them to products and add identifiers and per-language warnings — instead of hand-editing product descriptions. |
| Warnings in the buyer's language | GPSR asks for safety information "in a language easily understood" by consumers. Enter warnings per language; the storefront block shows the shopper's storefront language when you have entered it. The dashboard tells you which required languages are still missing per target market (BE, LU, and others carry more than one). |
| Responsible-Person handling done correctly | An EU Responsible Person is only required when the manufacturer is not established in the EU. The app applies that conditional rule and — when the manufacturer's EU status is unknown — flags the field as still needing your input rather than assuming it away. |
| Merchant-only completeness view | The dashboard shows how many products still miss a field or a language. The storefront shortfall notice is visible to you, the merchant — not to your shoppers. |
| Audit-ready evidence export | Download a timestamped CSV snapshot of your disclosure fields and completeness status — the kind of record you'd want if a market-surveillance authority asks what you displayed. |
| Lightweight & private | Uses only the write_products scope. No orders, no customer data, no crawling, no AI. |
How it works (5 minutes to first disclosure)
- Install — the app syncs your catalog and lets you set your store's Responsible Person and manufacturer presets once.
- Fill GPSR fields per product — reuse the manufacturers and Responsible Persons you saved.
- Add the theme block — the GPSR disclosure appears on your product pages in the buyer's EU-country language.
- Export audit CSV — download a timestamped snapshot of your disclosure fields and completeness status any time for your records.
What this app is / isn't (honest framing)
- It is a display & management tool, not legal advice and not a promise of legal compliance. You decide what your products must show and where.
- It is not your Responsible Person and does not provide a Responsible-Person service. You supply your own RP's name and contact details; the app only displays and documents what you enter. (An optional referral to an independent external RP partner may be offered in a later version — even then, the app itself never acts as, or stands in for, your RP.)
- It covers on-storefront product pages. Information required on packaging, physical labels, instructions, or in off-storefront channels remains your responsibility.
- It does not create a Declaration of Conformity or any CE/technical documentation for you. Where you have such documents, you can reference or attach your own.
FAQ
Does this make my store GPSR-compliant?
No tool can promise that — obligations depend on your products, your markets, and your own documentation, and they change. The app helps you display the Art. 19 information and shows you where fields or languages are still missing; the final responsibility is yours.
Are you my Responsible Person?
No. The app is not, and does not provide, a Responsible Person. You enter your own RP's details and the app displays and documents them. If we later add a referral to an external RP provider, that provider — not the app — would be your RP.
Do you access my customers or orders?
No — the app requests only the write_products scope and processes no consumer personal data.
Which languages are supported at launch?
The disclosure is written for every language required by the target markets you select (required-language mapping covers the EU-27 member states) plus a baseline set (EN/DE/FR/IT/ES/NL/SV). You supply the warning text per language — the app never machine-translates.
Where is my data stored? Japan (Tokyo), on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
