EPR Verpackung: LUCID Figures — Merchant Guide
Calculate your German VerpackG packaging kilograms per material, reconcile them against your dual-system and LUCID entries, and export audit-ready CSV — all free, no caps.
Why this app exists
German packaging law (VerpackG) requires distance sellers to report packaging volumes twice:
- To your dual system (e.g., Interseroh, Landbell, Reclay)
- Personally in the LUCID packaging register (ZSVR)
Both filings must carry identical kilogram figures per material. A mismatch can trigger a €200 k fine and a sales ban. This app calculates those kilograms from your product packaging data, puts the three figures side by side, and flags any difference — so you fix it before it becomes a problem.
What you get (every feature is free)
| Feature | What it does for you |
|---|---|
| Kilograms per material, calculated once | Enter each product's packaging (material, grams, level) once; the app multiplies by your quantities and aggregates into VerpackG material categories — rounded once, to three decimals, at the end. |
| Two portals, one screen | Your calculated figure, your dual-system figure, and your LUCID figure shown side by side per material. Any gap is highlighted instantly — including the gap that matters most: the two portals disagreeing with each other. |
| Read figures from a document photo — on your device | Photograph your dual-system confirmation letter; the app suggests the numbers it reads. The photo never leaves your browser. Nothing is applied until you click a suggestion, and each confirmed value records the document's SHA-256 fingerprint for your audit trail. |
| Forecast & settlement per year | Keep Planmenge (forecast) and Istmenge (settlement) figures separately for each reporting year. Next deadlines appear on the dashboard. |
| Quantities your way | Type totals per material directly, or upload a SKU×quantity CSV with a preview that shows every line it couldn't read before anything is saved. German (1.234) and English (1,234) thousands separators both work; fractional quantities are rejected, never rounded. |
| Audit CSV export | Download every figure — calculated, dual-system, LUCID — in one deterministic CSV. The record you'd hand over if a regulator asks. |
| Lightweight & private | Uses only the write_products scope. No orders, no customer data, no document uploads — only the values you confirm are stored. |
How it works (5 minutes to first numbers)
- Install — the app syncs your catalog and opens the packaging editor.
- Enter packaging per product — material, grams, packaging level (sales / grouped / transport). Most stores reuse the same few boxes.
- Enter quantities — totals per material, or a SKU×quantity CSV.
- See kilograms per material — on screen, as CSV, or printable.
- Reconcile — put your calculated figure next to your dual-system and LUCID entries (straight from a document photo if you like) and fix any difference before it becomes a problem.
What this app is / isn't (honest framing)
- It never files anything. LUCID reports must be filed by the producer personally — German law does not allow third parties to file for you. This app has no connection to LUCID or any dual system. It prepares figures; you enter them.
- It is a calculation & cross-check tool, not legal advice. Whether your packaging is subject to system participation, and under which levels, follows from your dual-system contract and the law — the app does not decide that for you and sets no defaults.
- It is not a dual system and does not license packaging. You need your own dual-system contract and your own LUCID registration.
- OCR suggestions are suggestions. Check each one against the photo — the side-by-side view is the safety, not the engine.
- Germany only (VerpackG). Other countries' EPR schemes (France, Spain, …) are not covered.
FAQ
Does this make me VerpackG-compliant?
No tool can promise that — obligations depend on your packaging, volumes, and contracts. The app helps you prepare consistent figures; registering with LUCID, contracting a dual system, and filing remain your own steps.
Can the app submit my LUCID report?
No — and not because of a missing feature: LUCID filings must be made by the producer personally, and there is no public API. The app prepares the figures so the manual entry is a copy job instead of a calculation job.
Where do my document photos go?
Nowhere. Reading happens in your browser on your device; the app's server never receives the image. Only values you explicitly confirm are stored, together with the document's SHA-256 fingerprint and the confirmation time.
Do you access my customers or orders?
No — the app requests only the write_products scope and processes no consumer personal data.
What about the EU packaging regulation (PPWR)?
The material catalog and deadlines are kept as replaceable data, so when reporting rules change the app can follow without a redesign.
Where is my data stored? Japan (Tokyo), on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
